On this episode of On the House: The Household Management Science Insights Podcast, host Gabriella Joustra is joined by Peter Wright who brings us expert knowledge about the importance of food safety. During the 90’s and the 00’s, Peter honed his skills through major events and stadiums throughout Australia and internationally, including the Sydney Olympics which was the launching pad for the next 20 years.
In 2007, following the redevelopment and successful Commonwealth Games at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, Peter started his first consultancy business and became the President of the Australian Culinary Federation — a position which he held for nine consecutive years.

In this episode of On the House: The Household Management Podcast, host Gabriella Joustra is joined by Jessica Harrison, a sustainability professional living in Melbourne. She comes from an environmental consulting background and holds a Master’s of Environmental Management and Sustainability from Monash University. She is currently the Team Leader of Sustainability at Greater Dandenong City Council, and the Secretary of the South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA). The conversation started by getting to know Jessica’s story about getting her own motorbike learner’s permit and ended with Jessica’s best practices to live sustainably in her own house. Jessica also shares her personal earth overshoot day!

Pollution in our water, land, and air is a major concern for many people, and poor waste management is one contributing factor. This substance not only harms the environment but also causes many health problems in humans. How can we reduce the risks by managing our waste at home?

La Vergne Lehmann, a Waste & Sustainability Coordinator at Yarriambiack Shire Council, joins host Gabriella Joustra on this episode of On the House: The Household Management Podcast. La Vergne has spent over ten years in the waste and recycling industry, working with councils, businesses, and the community in regional Victoria. She begins this episode by discussing how she manages waste at home. She also discusses food management tips and the challenges of waste management.

Ltd., and Nurture Training College. Louisa had the great honor of being on the APNA awards committee and giving Barbara Kline of White House Nannies in Washington, DC, the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2018, Louise won two prestigious awards from the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies, based in the United States. The first award was for leadership, presented to Louise for her 31 years of leading the industry and encouraging them to do better. The second was for Excellence as an Agency. This honor is particularly noted because it is the first time 2 awards have been won by one Agency in the same year, and it is the first time the award has been presented to a non-American Agency.
